Alison’s new bread basket dolly is just one example of how the company is giving UK bakers greater flexibility and responsiveness in the way they order their packaging products.

Alison Handling Services (AHS), Europe’s largest stockist of plastic containers and boxes, has introduced a new bread basket dolly designed for standard (762 x 508 x 216mm) 12-loaf stack nests. Capable of holding up to eight nests and available in grey or purple (to match Alison’s distinctive trays and baskets), the dolly has been designed with availability in mind.

“We do an enormous amount of work with UK bakers,” says Alison Dearden at AHS, “and, like any other industry, they’re constantly looking to create faster, more efficient work processes. One of the keys to that is ensuring our customers can get their bread baskets and dollies precisely when they need them, and that’s why we’ve made the decision to manufacture the dolly in the UK.”

Manufacturing the dollies in the UK makes lead times shorter. That, and the fact that Alison can hold more of the dollies in stock, eliminates any potential delay in meeting order requirements.

“UK production means our customers can get their orders very quickly,” says Alison, “Additionally, of course, this move reduces the carbon footprint of our operation and supports British manufacturing.”
